Every year the Shaw Guild has a wonderful lineup of events and activities available for members. Here is a list of the events going on in 2018. More information on each event can be found in upcoming newsletters and eblasts.

Scene Shop Visit
Monday, March 12 • Guild members are invited to view the set and scenery under construction for upcoming productions. The Shaw’s design and construction heads, often with the play’s director, discuss the set planning and construction process. This discussion illustrates the challenges faced in addressing often-conflicting dramatic and practical issues.
Spring Preview Luncheon
Monday, April 9 • Members are invited to a fantastic lunch prepared by the Green Room at the Shaw Festival. After lunch a senior Shaw staff member will be giving a presentation of the sets and costume designs for the season’s upcoming productions. Wednesday, May 2 • Each year, The Shaw invites Guild members to attend a dress rehearsal of a new production as guests of the Shaw Festival. For 2018, the dress rehearsal is Grand Hotel.
Saturday, June 9 • This annual fundraising garden tour showcases magnificent secret gardens in lovely old town Niagara-on-the-Lake. Meander through eight gardens and discover many varieties of lush plants, beautiful trees, and stunning perennials nestled around historic homes. For more information, see the Garden Tour page.
Monday, July 16 • Join your fellow Guild members for fun, food and refreshments on a summer evening on the Members’ Terrace. Watch for ticket information and be sure to register early as space is limited.
Cricket Match: Shaw vs Stratford
Monday, August 27 • Each year, the Shaw Festival and Stratford Festival challenge each other to a cricket match – a true test of which festival is best! Guild members are encouraged to come and cheer on our wonderful team.
Tuesday, September 25 • Get a rare glimpse of repertory theatre in action as crews change the sets between the matinee and evening performances – a window of just a couple of hours.
Monday, October 22 • Shaw senior management provide a sneak preview of the next season’s playbill.
Annual General Meeting
Sunday, November 25 • The executive committee will take you through the year in the Shaw Guild and discuss what achievements have been made and what changes we may see in 2019.
