Members’ Day, October 22, 2018
150 Guild members gathered in the Jackie Maxwell Studio Theatre to congratulate 12 long-service volunteers, including Felicitas Mandeville who was recognized for 50 years of service.
Seated in the theatre, with the hospital bed set of Henry V on the stage, members had a chance to celebrate the award recipients, and to hear guest presentations from Tim Jennings, Executive Director and Diana Donnelly, Director, Far Away. The formal meeting was followed by a reception in the Macdonald Heaslip Lounge.

Felicitas started her volunteer career in 1968 just 6 years after the founding of the Festival. “In those days”, Felicitas said “volunteers did everything; they sold tickets, staffed the drink concessions, organized opening nights, and even cleaned up after the performance.”
Felicitas participated in the fundraising campaign to build the current Festival Theatre, and was one of the first members of the Shaw Guild, when it was formed as the volunteer organization of The Shaw in 1974.
Certificates of congratulations were sent by Rob Nicholson, MP, on behalf of the Federal Government, Wayne Gates, MPP, on behalf of the Provincial Government and Tim Carroll, Tim Jennings and Julian Rance on behalf of The Shaw Festival and The Shaw Guild.
